RIPT Gets New Drummer .... *** POSTED 08/03/09 *** R.I.P.T. has been working with a new Drummer, Andrew Goetz. Its going well, and we are working on getting some of our old originals down, writing some new stuff, and have added a bunch of covers to our repetoire. We hope to be the best of both worlds, being able to play an all original show, or playing a cover show, or mixing it!

Luna from the Blaze hosts this great show, that supports local music, tune in to hear about the band, upcoming shows, upcoming projects, and other off the wall stuff. RIPT Video .... *** POSTED 08/02/07 *** R.I.P.T. recently shot some footage for a low budget video. Footage will include some live footage of the band, as well as some other clips. Editing is being done at a local TV station, and should be ready in a few weeks. This is just a fun item the band hopes to use on the web site, and possible promoting tool for venues.

RIPT on the Radio .... *** POSTED 01/08/07 *** R.I.P.T. was played on 104.1 The Blaze's Local Bandwith show on 01/07/2007. THANK YOU LUNA !! The first song played was "Distinction" and since a few others have been played. Keep tuned in to the show and we may be heard again. RIPT cuts 6 Song Demo CD .... *** POSTED 10/22/06 *** R.I.P.T. went into the Studio Oct. 21, 2006 ... and recorded a 6 song demo. The recording process was awesome, and we can not say enough good things about Platinum Recording Studio, they did a great job recording our music. We were there for 13 hours, and for that short of studio time, we got some very good recordings. We will be working on getting CD's made an available for sale hopefully by Christmas. RIPT Looses guitarist Jay Johnson .... *** POSTED 10/06/06 *** R.I.P.T. looses guitarist Jay Johnson. Jay had played with RIPT about year and is now moving on. He was a great player and is still a good friend of the band. The departure was due to minor conflicting music interests, and Jay would like to sing. R.I.P.T. wishes Jay the best of luck with his singing ambitions!!

RIPT AXED from The Animal's Car show (was scheduled for June 24, 2006) .... *** POSTED 06/08/06 *** R.I.P.T. was removed from the car show's roster. We played the original car show date that had gotten rained out, but the bands still played. With the new car show date, the promoters of the event want different bands from the first show !! So we will not be playing this show. This gig was one we were looking forward, but unfortunately its not going to happen. R.I.P.T. officially wishes luck ot the new bands !

RIPTFEST warm up, SHUT DOWN .... Hunt for new venue for August 5. *** POSTED 05/23/06 *** RIPT played for about 40 minutes at an acreage outside of town. Unfortunately the police came and shut us down. Neighbors complaining .... about sound level of the music. If its too loud, you're too old !! Despite being shut down early, what the band played went over well. The day was great for the activities, which included grilling out, Volleyball, Karaoke, and misc. activities. Now the hunt for a new location and possbile date is on. We would like to host RIPTFEST in August, for our fans, and give local bands another opportunity to play.

LETS RIDE !!!!!! *** POSTED 05/18/06 *** RIPT may have be playing the grand opening of a new "Harley Davidson" building in Lincoln, sometime in August. Look out Harley Davidson, we have the song for you called "Let's Ride". The band is exicited about having the opportunity to play, which is a crowd we feel will enjoy our material. MIDWEST TOUR ? *** POSTED 05/17/06 *** Rumors have it that the band may have an opportunity to play on the road. The band is reviewing schedules and obtaining info. If travel, would be midwest places like, Kansas City, Sturgis, Council Bluffs, Omaha, etc. Of course, there would be some shows still around Lincoln, but to get out and travel would be great. The band hopes to be able to take advantage of this, but time will tell. Keep posted for future news.

BATTLE WINNER, STUDIO TIME !! *** POSTED 04/26/06 *** RIPT wins battle of the bands studio time. R.I.P.T. played a battle of the bands with Section 8, Hold Still, and Lux Vitae. Judges voted and we won the studio time. Congratulations to Hold Still who won the popularity contest, which was based on alcohol sales votes. The show went great with a lot of energy, and we gained some fans, as well as made friends with "Section 8" who rocks. The show was promoted by Love of the Music Productions, whom we thank for the opportunity.
